Read about Jesus' reply to the 3 questions of Pilate in the Gospel of John, ch.18 and vs. 13 to 38. Please note that Jesus did not reply to the third question as Pilate did not require it.
Jesus then told a parable about 'the good Samaritan'.
There is no problem with reply to an old tweet by someone famous.

When someone wishes you a Happy Birthday, you should reply with "Thanks a lot".
When some says "wassup" you would reply as if someone asked you " what's up."

We use "How do you do?" when we meet someone 1st time. It's a formal greeting and a reply is not necessary. It's used as "Namaste". the reply of 'Namaste' is 'Namaste'. then reply of 'How do you do?' will also be same (How do you do?)
