William I fought against Engish rebels after the battle of Hastings, but he died of wounds he got in a Battle in France. He fought against his son, Robert, in France before that happened. His sons fought against each other, but mostly in France. The last of the Normans, Steven and Matilda fought in England, and the armies on both sides were mostly English, but they were not fighting with the English so much as with each other.
