Sounds like a problem with the idle air control valve. The battery would not cause this, as when the car is on the computer provides the power through the alternator. The reason it could be idle air control is that the computer increases the alternator output when current draw increases, which increases the load on the engine. Normally it also compensates for this at the same time by allowing more air into the engine, and it does so through a valve on the throttle body (or with the throttle itself in the case of an electronically controlled throttle)
Check out your alternator and or voltage regulator! That's most likely what it is.
A bad alternator would NOT cause the vehicle to stall. Neither would a bad regulator.
You shorted it out, try protecting the wire ends from touching anything metal next time. the wire ends on the battery?
The same way you started it before replacing the battery.
No, you do not have to reset anything except the clock and radio presets.
battery needs replacing, make sure you replace it with a battery of correct cranking amps
nothing special just hook the pos first and neg last
my battery is still on after changing battery and altnator
It could be that the battery in the remote is low. Replace the battery first. If that does not fix the problem, take it to a shop that repairs car alarms. Many have been fixed just by replacing the battery. Prior to the battery going completely out, it will cause the alarm to misread.
You either have a weak battery that needs replacement or you alternator is defective. Start the engine and check the voltage at the battery with a volt meter. It should read from 13.5-16 volts. Anything less and the alternator needs replacing. If it is reading within that range the battery is defective. Another possibility is a defective battery cable that is swollen or frayed.
To be completely ready it takes about 30-45 minutes of driving for the computer to complete all tests and to allow smog testing.
The alternator is probably bad. That is what recharges your battery
