It will need more cell membrane or else it would lyse, or break itself. If you shove a ton of contents into a tiny plastic bag or in this cased a tiny membrane, it will break.

How can you call cell wall as dead and cell membrane as living?

because cell wall is not so imp. as if we provide a constant osmotic temp. then the cell will survive as in animal cells they do but if cell membrane doesn"t exist then cell would not survive.

Would a cell survive without a plasma membrane?

Not for a nanosecond.

How do unicellular get oxygen?

Unicellular protists, also known as micro-organisms, need oxygen to survive. They obtain oxygen by diffusing it across the cell membrane into the cell.

Does plant cells need a cell membrane?

Yes plant cells need a cell membrane. In addition to the cell membrane they also have a cell wall. Animal cells however do not have a cell wall but merely a membrane. A cell is not able to live without a membrane as it holds the organelles and cytoplasm in place.

Could a cell survive without cell membrane?

At this time, there is no evidence that prokaryote or eukaryote cells can survive without a cell membrane and be metabolically active at the same time. Many viruses don't have cell membrane but a a protein core instead. Viruses cannot be considered as living cell but infective particles because they are not active outside host cells.

Why do you need cholesterol in the cell membrane?

It prevents the lipids on the cell membrane from sticking together

Why does a cell have a cell membrane?

The cell membrane does not just separate the inside of the cell from the outside of the cell. It provides flexibility to the cell. It also creates a semi-permeable membrane, therefore letting osmosis of water occur. Without the cell membrane, cells would not be able to maintain equilibrium, and no cells would be able to survive today.
