When tiger cubs are born, they are blind and helpless. Until they have some time to develop, the cubs won't exit the den. Once they are developed, they spend lots of time outside, under the watchful eyes of their mother. When she has to leave to go hunting, the cubs hide in the den.
A Tiger
If a lion and tiger have a cub it's called a liger or tigon.
Usually the female tiger takes care of the cub. The female tiger leaves the male tiger as soon as it is pregnant and goes to a far off place to avoid the male. This is because the male tiger may pose a threat to the infant cub. Sometimes, male tiger may also kill it's own cub.
Mother tiger = tigress. The baby tiger = cub. :)
