To figure out your net force. you would first have to see if your two types of forces are balenced. in this case it is so your net force would equal 0 becouse both ends of the force is equal so therefor your net force is 0. sorry people but i suck at everything so just saying if you have a hard time understanding this answer try something else im just putting it out their cause i want to show some pride. so ya good luck guys.

ok when there are 2 equal froces pushing together, lets say on a box, the box will not move and the net force is 0. think if this: 0 movement= 0 net force. alrighty?

Equal means the forces are of equal magnitude. And they act exactly in opposite directions. Then certainly the resultant effect will be zero. So we say that the forces are set in balanced condition. Hence balanced.
