I have found that using dust off, and blowing it inside when the shade is opened works well. Or even tking them down when they are opened and turning them on their side, and shaking them also works. Hope this helps.

Well, pyramids can have tree's by them but the harsh conditions of the area the pyramids are around don't tend to let the tree's survive because they can't adapt as fast as they need to.
