A 3-phase 3-wire system provides a single-phase supply between any two wires. On a 3-phase 4-wire system with one line out but the neutral intact, the system is described as a faulty 3-phase system but it would allow a 3-phase motor to start, but not run properly.

True 2-phase systems with the voltages in quadrature (90 degrees or one quarter cycle apart) were used in the 19th century but not since then because 3-phase was found to be better.

Why you use only single phase induction motor not other?

You would use a single-phase induction motor if the available electric power supply is a single-phase one. That applies to the average house or small business.

They shouldn't, but if the blood supply is accidentally damaged the result would be damaged ovaries.

What will happen to a muscle in the body when its nerve supply is destroyed or badly damaged a?

If the power supply of the xbox 360 is damaged how can it still provide energy for the console?

If the power supply still works then yes.

What is the advantage of an open delta transformer?

An open-delta connection is a method of providing a three-phase supply, using two single-phase transformers. It is particularly useful if , say, one single-phase transformer, part of a three single-phase transformers forming a three-phase transformer bank, becomes damaged -allowing the two remaining transformers to provide a temporary three-phase supply to the load. The drawback with this connection is that the capacity of the transformer bank is reduced, and it can only provide a lower load current.

What is the difference between a single phase and a three phase inverter?

The Single and Three phase refer to Alternating Current electrical power supply outlet system and the corresponding equipment requirements. The single phase system is generally used thepower requirements are low or moderate as for household applications , while the Three phase supply system is used for High power industrial applications. Thenumbers of phases refer to Alternating Current Supply lines which are delivering the power or the sytem requirement of the equipment for operation. Thus a single phase supply cannot operate a three phase equipment or vice versa. However a ThreePhase supply can be used individually as Three different Single Phase supply systems In case of Three Phase systems the electrical supply waveforms are such that at any given instant there is a 120 degree phase difference between any two supply lines , which also results in higher magnitude of supply voltage than the corresponding single phase supply. Now refering to the inverter which is nothing but a device to convert the electrical supply from one source or magnitude ( typically DC from a Battery Bank ) to the required form and Magnitude. Thus it simply generates the equivalent electrical supply either as Singleor Three Phase , which ideally will be the same as available available from the wall outlet

You have one hp three phase motor where as available power supply is only single phase how can you run this motor?

You will need to install a phase converter or change the motor to single phase. You can find a licensed electrician at www.contraxtor.com

The motherboard could be damaged if the power supply released a surge of electricity during the destruction.

When would a three phase supply be preferred over a single phase supply?

Bcoz in single phase if supply is interrupt or any trouble there is no power .but in 3 phase if 1phase supply gone we can manage it by other 2 phases
