If three points all lie on the same line, then the points are said to be "collinear".

This is also true if the slope from each point to the next is the same.

What are the three points for coplanar but not collinear?

Two points (which must lie on a line) and the third point NOT on that line.

If you jump over the three point line when shooting the is it still a three?

Provided that you last touched the ground outside the three-point line, the shot should count as three points.

How do you find a point equidistant from three other points?

To find a point equidistant from three other points, construct perpendicular bisectors for two of the segments formed from three points. Note: this will be the center of the circle that has all three points on it's circumference. Three points, not in a straight line, form three pairs of points with each pair defining a different line. Take any pair of points and draw the perpendicular bisector of the line joining them. Repeat for one of the other pairs. These two perpendicular bisectors will meet at the point which is equidistant from all three points - the circumcenter of the triangle formed by the three points.

Three what points determine a plane?

Any three points will determine a plane, provided they are not collinear. If you pick any two points, you can draw a line to connect them. An infinite number of planes can be drawn that include the line. But if you pick a third point that does not lie on the line. There will be exactly one plane that will contain the line and that point you added last. Only oneplane can contain the line, which was determined by the first two points, and the last point.

What are collinear points?

Collinear points are points that lie on the same line. Noncollinear points do not lie on the same line. Any two points are always collinear, i.e. forming a line. Three or more points can be collinear along a single line.Collinear points lies on the same straight line.

Has the three point line affect basketball?

Well, I think you mean what is the three point line... well the three point line in basketball is a designated arc line radiating from the basket. If a player shoots beyond the three point line, it counts as three points while if you shoot inside the three point line, it only counts as two points.

How many points is worth a layup shot?

It depends on where you are when you shoot it. If your feet are behind the three point line, then the jump shot is worth 3 points if your feet are on or in front of the three point line then the jump shot is worth 2 points.

How many points is a regulation shot in a game of basketball?

If you shoot and make a basket inside the three point line or with your feet on the three point line it is worth two points. If you shoot and make a basket anywhere behind the three point line without your feet on the line it is worth three points. If you get fouled when you are shooting you go to the free throw line to shoot free throws. This is an uncontested, untimed shot that if you make it, it is worth one point.

If the points are on the same line then the points are collinear?

Three or more points that lie on the same straight line are called Collinear.
