stops food sticking to the bottom of pans
One company is Fagor. They offer a 4-Piece Egg Poacher Set that includes teflon egg poaching pans for around $40.00. Another company is Norpro. They offer a Norpro Stainless Steel 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set with teflon egg poaching pans for around $70.00
I stopped purchasing Teflon coated products a long time ago. I did read online that there could be harmful effects. Maybe you could give the pans to someone who does not have birds.
If you can afford to replace it, that's the best thing to do. There is no way to repair either Teflon / "TFAL" soft surfaces or enamel hard surfaces. Next time around, resolve to use only nylon or plastic utensils in your nonstick pans.
Hi there many no stick pans are made from steel and teflon. The pan is usually coated in a layer of teflon to stop sticken but it can be worn away by metal utensils and washing over years. Now new technology non stick pans have come out with the teflon interweven in the actual pan so it's not just a layer.
They can be aluminium, steel, iron, stainless steel, the 'Teflon' is a non stick coating covering the cooking surface of the base metal.
Freon is a gas used in refrigerators while Teflon is a nonstick substance used in pans.
Hi there when using nonstick pans metal utensils shouldn't be used if the pan has only a layer of teflon non stick as this can be easily scratched away and damaged. If using a pan whit the teflon mixed in then you should be able to use metl utensils but be care full and take care.If in doubt just use plastic utensils.
Absolutely, if the teflon is headed too high or scraps off of the pans it can be potentially harmful. It is especially harmful if it gets too hot and burn and is breathed in. I switched to all stainless steel. www.greenbabiesblog.org
To prevent food from sticking to the pan even without the use of oil.
Yes. I've done it and the pans are still in great shape.
