The pronoun 'who' is an interrogative pronoun, used to introduce a question.

Example: Who is on the phone?

The pronoun 'who' takes the place of the noun for the person that is the answer to the question.

The pronoun 'who' is a relative pronoun, used as the subject of a relative clause.

Example: The man who called will call again tomorrow.

The pronoun 'who' takes the place of the noun 'man' giving additional information about that man.
