Eventually, all digital television signals become analogue. In the case of an LCD television, each crystal shutter operates in an analogue fashion to control the brightness of the pixel.

In a CRT television, the conversion happens further back in the signal path. Most CRT televisions don't have digital inputs so it is normal for the signal to be converted back to analogue before it reaches the television, using composite video or analogue component signals for example. If the television has a digital input, the signal will be changed to analogue before being processed and amplified ready to arrive at the tube.
