When walking up behind a horse, you should talk in a gentle voice. stay close to the hindquarters. if you dont know the horse, walk way around. if the horse kicks and your right up next to it youll get pushed. if your mid distance, youll get the blow. if your way away you wont get anything. I'm sorry but that question is stupid, and yes they can kick you I personally walk behind my horse because I trust him but that does not mean he wont kick, but I walk around about the length of there leg on other peoples horses.
