Alessandra Giliani, an Italian anatomist and the first recorded female prosector, is believed to have died from the plague while working as a physician during the 14th century. Unfortunately, detailed records of her death are scarce, but historical accounts suggest that she succumbed to the pandemic that was rampant during her time.
