American Brownings were made from 1940-49. Please re ask with the serial number
You don't provide a serial number.
Sounds like you have an American made Browning. These were made by Remington under contract for Browning from 1940-49 If this is correct, the serial number is on the left side of the receiver. It is not however a sweet 16, but a standard weight American Auto5. this serial number represents a gun made in 1945. auto5man
1991 PX 22
Based on R. L. Wilson's book, Colt, An American Legend, it appears this serial number is in the 1919 run. :-)
It was made in 1980,with the serial number that you have provided.
This sounds really odd, but there is a possibility that there are two Auto 5's made with that serial number - no kidding. If the serial number is on the left side of the receiver it is an American Browning made in the USA in 1941. If the gun serial number is on the bottom or the receiver the gun is a Belgian made gun manufactured between November 1957 and April 1958.
Are you sure about that serial number??
