Religion. Religion is not the only difference between India and Pakistan. Their are more muslims in India then in Pakistan. The difference is in govt setups, India is mostly a secular and a democratic country unlike Pakistan which is a moderate Muslim country. In India generally their is more freedom and they have very good education system. They also have democracy but inspite of all this ,their minorities donot have rights. India is a country where minorities live in a very bad condition, their are soome states in India where places are not even develope just because they are inhabited by Minorities. Yes their are similarities between both countries but their are also differences. Pakistan is an ideological state with hospitable people, generally people of Pakistan are welcoming ,they donot see the tourists or the foreigners as "Bank Accounts" "Funds" or "income". Indians (not all) treat foreigners or tourists as "Money machine" or "source of income". Pakistan use to have a better living standard then Indians as Indians generally love to hord money. They collect money but like to live a simple life. Inspite of being a growing economy, India has many issues eg. poverty, inflation and even their own media is concerned about it. According to BBC and other news channels their are millions of Indians who are living on less than a Dollar per day and even their are many people in India who donot have access to clean water and public toilets. Even Arun Dhati Roy a social activist and a writer has written against Indian govt and has criticised it for its treatment towards minorities. Even Jasvant Singh(A Former member of Indian political Party) has said in his interview that "Muslims in India are treated like aliens". Pakistan has its own problems but atleast Pakistanis respect women and donot beat women on the streets. Even UN reports have recently shown that India is lagging behind Pakistan in Gender equality". Women are treated very badly in India.
