Most scientist probably believe that the Big Bang created the universe and eventually the Earth. However most also believe there was some time of intelligence that guided it, as the odds against it happening as pure chance are astronomical.
Lacerta is one of the 88 modern constellations defined by the International Astronomical Union. Its name is Latin for lizard. A small, faint constellation, it was created in 1687 by the astronomer Johannes Hevelius. Its brightest stars form a "W" shape similar to that ofCassiopeia, and it is thus sometimes referred to as 'Little Cassiopeia'. It is located betweenCygnus, Cassiopeia and Andromeda on the northern celestial sphere. The northern part lies on the Milky Way.
Basically, under the Persian Empire, Kidinnu or Cidenas: famous Babylonian astronomer (fourth century BCE?), one of the most important persons in the history of science, created the saros cycle. At first, intercalary months were announced by the king (who had an astronomical adviser), but after Babylon had been captured by the Persian king Cyrus in 539, priestly officials took over. They started to look for a standard procedure for the intercalation of months. It was introduced in 503 BCE by Darius I the Great (if not earlier).
Humans created the constellations in their minds. Constellations are nothing more than stars in the sky, with no pattern or meaning. The ancient Greeks saw what appeared to be parallel points of light thought they were a giant game of connect the dots, and imagined them forming meaningful pictures. +++ Yes, they are as you say, but they are useful as "sky-marks" in mapping astronomical objects. Perhaps the most obvious is the Orion Nebula, just about visible to the naked eye in good viewing conditions as a faint patch of fuzzy light. We say It is "in" Orion, but none of the constellation's stars have anything to do with each other or the nebula. Orion is simply an easily-recognisable image of stars that happen to frame the nebula, so help us to find it.
