The Ateshgah of Baku was built in the 17th–18th centuries, with the main structure constructed around 1713.
Although the current temple complex dates to that period, the site itself was used much earlier as a place of fire worship by Zoroastrians and Hindu merchants, due to the natural gas flames that once burned continuously in the area.
Today, it stands as an important historical and cultural monument in Baku, Azerbaijan.
