Not so much. There is no one Canadian identity. Canada is a Confederation of many Nations and cultures. Within those cultures there are very different ideas of what is and what is not Social Justice. For example many Multi-Generational Canadians feel very strongly that a persons race should not determine their access to jobs, or government resources or anything of significance when dealing with government. But the Canadian government is a very strong supporter of Aboriginal rights based on race and has laws ensuring Aboriginals can live in racial segregated communities. Social Justice is important but it means something different to each group of Canadians so is not linked to an overall Canadian identity. UNLESS of course we are talking about the culture that has created the Canadian system which includes racial and cultural discrimination. Canadians from those cultures would say their identity is linked to social justice because they created it. They would also claim to be the only "real" Canadians. They would naturally answer yes, and they would down play any idea that Canada is a Confederation of Nations.
In 1971, the Canadian Minister of Justice was Pierre Elliott Trudeau. He served in this role from April 1968 until June 1974, during his first term as Prime Minister. Trudeau was a significant figure in Canadian politics, known for his efforts in promoting civil rights and social reforms.
