They were only awarded with a Banner. They were not awarded Kings Colours and Regimental colours only Infantry regiments are awarded Colours, very rarely Rifle regiments. The Banner was at St.Pauls Church, Kandy later taken to England with the banner presented to the Ceylon Mounted Rifles.It was revealed that CMR banner had perished in recent years but I have a seen a picture sent by the British Museum at 2V SLLI Museum.
