Leyland Daf began producing commercial vehicles (mostly trucks) in 1983. They continue to operate today however they have lost business to more well known manufacturers.

(also owns Renault Trucks in Europe and Mack Trucks in the USA), Navistar (International), and Daimler A.G. (parent company of Mercedes-Benz, owners of Freightliner and Western Star, and they also bought out Ford's heavy truck rights and manufactured them under the name Sterling, which they discontinued in 2009).
