Danelectro was created in 1947.

Danelectro guitars can be found online at a few different websites, and even have their own official website. They can also be purchased on Danguitars, Musicians Friend, and Amazon websites.

You could try to check the serial number on it to see when it was made.
It was a black 1959 Danelectro 3021 or better knows as the 59 DC.
To purchase a new Danelectro bass guitar online, you can visit Guitar Center's web site, Amazon, or any number of other online instrument retailers. For some of the older models, you can try looking on eBay, an antiques dealer's website or contact a collector who may be selling one on Craigslist.
In the first part of the movie (before they become famous), Jimmy is playing a Gibson Les Paul Junior and Lenny is playing a Silvertone Model 1457 (made by Danelectro). After they become famous Jimmy is playing a Rickenbacker 360 and Lenny is playing a Fender Jaguar. The bass player (who went to the army) is playing a Danelectro bass. And the wolfman (who replaces Ethan Embry) plays a Fender bass.Hope this helps. Frettin' Freddie
I believe the LTD was made in 2005, but would have been seen new in stores for a few years after that. The MSRP was around $500, but the street price (new in store) was only about $379.
Get something like a BOSS SD-1 Super OverDrive or a Danelectro Cool Cat Drive. Those should get you started as far as distortion goes. Try out as many as you can that are in your price range. Avoid buying without trying!
How much would a 1945 Danelectro be worth? Nothing. The company didn't exist in '45. As for, say, a 1947, it depends on the individual guitar's condition as well as the desirability of certain models. I've seen the old Amp in Case guitars sold through Sears going for over a thousand dollars on eBay, but that includes the case and built-in amp. Other mint models have been around $600, but these are usually mint reissues from the late '90s, or less pristine originals from the 1950s or '60s. Personally, although I like Danos (and play one), I wouldn't pay that much for what was a cheap guitar in its day.
Some guitars that come to mind: Gretsch 6120, Rickenbacker 360, Brian May Guitars signature, Trussart Steelcaster and Steel Paul, Fender Jazzmaster, Fender Jaguar, Danelectro '59 DC Standard, Taylor T5...
