Imprimatur - book - was created in 2002.
ImprimaturHi This is a general knowledge question in today's Daily Mail. I am quite flummoxed by it. Can anyone help. Thank you in advance. Sally The answer was IMPRIMATUR
It's Latin for "let it be printed". It is official authorization, usually granted by a bishop, to print a Catholic book or other Catholic publication.
As of September 2013, I know of nothing that the Vatican has put out as far as approving websites, certainly nothing with the same validity of an imprimatur.
In some cases you will find in the front of the book:Nihil Obstat (nothing stands in the way ) and/or Imprimatur (Let it be printed) along with the name of the Church official who reviewed the book, usually a bishop, which means the book has nothing in it that might be contrary to Catholic teaching.
imprimatur
Catholic writers can seek a limited endorsement of the Church for religious publications. Nihil obstat and imprimatur are official declarations that a book or pamphlet is free of doctrinal or moral error.
Catholic AnswerThe longest book in the Bible is the book of Psalms, there really is no "Catholic Bible" per se, just Bibles that have not had the Old Testament Deuterocanonicals removed as would be the case with the modern protestant Bibles. Thus a "Catholic Bible" would be any translation that has been approved by the Church and given an Imprimatur.
Book I was created in 2000.
