Jimmy Page did not quit the Yardbirds--the rest of the band essentially quit, leaving Page as the sole member of the Yardbirds. He then formed the New Yardbirds, which was soon to be renamed Led Zeppelin, with John Paul Jones, Robert Plant, and John Bonham to finish tour dates he already had scheduled around Scandinavia.

According to Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 100 Guitarists of All Time page is the best out of the three. This is may have been true in the seventies but currently Clapton holds this title with his versatility, electric, acoustic, songwriting and vocal ability.
