Geir Ivarsøy and Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, who developed a web browser called "MultiTorg Opera", while working at a Norwegian phone company called "Telenor". Telenor abandoned the project, but Geir and Jon acquired the rights to the software and continued developing it under Opera Software. Geir died of cancer in 2006, and Jon is now CEO of Opera Software, where he continues improving it.
