No. However, front runner and lyricist Roy Khan imbedded his personal struggles in the lyrics and eventually left the band (and music as a whole) after his "awakening."
Epica is a Dutch heavy metal band. Other bands that are similar to Epica include Nightwish, Within Temptation, After Forever, God Dethroned and Kamelot
No. Unless a band specifically says they're satanic (I.E. Many Black Metal bands), don't be eager to assume because all you end up doing it making people mad. Even then, most of them aren't seriously Satanic (for example, Aeon writes lyrics concerning satanism but they are not specifically Satanic, merely very anti-Christian.) As for Kamelot, the Albums The Black Halo and Epica were based on Goethe's Faust, a classical theater piece with a similar concept (man sells his soul to the devil for what he want). They actually have rather motivating means to them and more are about the great questions of life than they are about Satanism. In the end, the main character defeats Satan as well. No, they are not satanic, although they dabble into religion in many of their songs.
