Lanark and Hamilton East. James Hood, born 16 May 1948, is a British Labour Party politician. He has been the Member of Parliament for Lanark and Hamilton East since 2005. He was first elected in 1987, as MP for Clydesdale until boundary changes dissolved the Clydesdale constituency and was replaced by the newly created Lanark and Hamilton East constituency in 2005.
