A black garden ant is a small species of ant common in Europe, Latin name Lasius niger.
Lasius niger = black ant (black garden ant)
if there is a small gap the very smal ants can escape but ants like lasius Niger (average garden ant, black and fast)cant get through small gaps
Ant eggs laid by Lasius niger after mating flight in June typically take about 1-2 weeks to hatch. The timing may vary slightly depending on environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. Once hatched, the larvae undergo several stages of development before reaching adulthood.
There are five native species of crayfishes in Nebraska. These include the Northern crayfish (Orconectes virilis), Papershell crayfish (Orconectes immunis), Ringed crayfish (Orconectes neglectus neglectus), Devil crayfish (Cambarus diogenes), and Grassland crayfish (Procambarus gracilis). The Northern crayfish is found statewide. The Papershell crayfish is primarily in the eastern and northern portions of the state, being rare in the Republican and Blue River basins. The Ringed crayfish is found in the western 2/3 of the state. Devil crayfish are found in the east and north. The range of the Grassland crayfish is not well defined but is in the southeast corner of the state. In addition, Rusty crayfish (Orconectes rusticus) were recently found in a couple of lakes in the metro-Omaha area.
The scientific name for a black ant that I am familiar with is componotus hurculeanu. If this isn't correct, don't blame me. I just figured it out on another website a month ago but is seems to have impressed my science teachers.
