It was several weeks after he died. His body was carried by steam train back to Illinois and every town they went through it stopped. In large cities his body was there for 2-3 days so people could file past the coffin. Everywhere he won't people lined the tracks as the train went by and were very upset. I believe it was toward the end of May before he was finally placed in his mausoleum. Yet, he did stay there for very long. Three men tried to steal his body and were stopped, but the mausoleum was damaged and while it was under repair his body was in the basement of the mausoleum . Due to problems his body will remain there for 30 years before he is finally put to rest.
