Louis Ferdinand, dauphin of France, who died aged 36 and was the only son of Louis XV, then King of France. Therefore, Louis XVI became the new dauphin and eventually King instead of his father.
He inherited the throne on May 10th, 1774.
They used that premise in the post Napoleonic Wars to place Louis XVIII on the throne of France.
