Ephedra Nevadensis is also called Mormon tea and exist in Nevada. Nevadensis is being used in many Ephedra diet supplements today because it does not contain any Ephedrine Alkaloids at all. The Alkaloids you will find in Ephedra plants like Sinica also called Ma Huang or Sida Cordifolia. They were taken of the market in 2004 because of a FDA ban, but you can still get them.
Ephedra Exist in around 40 plants around the world. Some of them like Ephedra Sinica or Cordifolia contains Alkaloids. Between 40 and 90% of the Alkaloids is Ephedrine. Ephedra plants like Nevadensis or Viridis only contains Ephedra and not Ephedrine.
