Napoleon Symphony was created in 1974.
Eroica, Symphony #3. At the time of its premiere it was the longest symphony ever written.
That was something that Beethoven and not Napoleon decided.
Beethoven dedicated his Symphony #3, the "Eroica" to Napoleon Bonaparte.
I think it's because Eroica means Heroic, and he wanted it to be called Heroic symphony in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte, but later on he erased the dedication to Bonaparte but kept the name.
He scratched out his dedication to Napoleon from his Third Symphony.
