A mower may start to steer hard from many things: -Flat/soft tires -Lack of grease on the front axle or front axle joints -Lack of grease on the rack/pinion gears -Lack of grease on the steering wheel bearing -Crack in the axle itself, allowing the corners of the axle to move I have had all of these happen to me and they are relatively quick to rule out.
Sometimes the boots crack in a seam and hard to find. If there is grease there is a rip.
#1 axle is the steer axle, #2 axle is the front drive axle, #3 axle is the rear drive axle.
The axle in a Corolla may crack due to various factors, including excessive stress from driving conditions, such as hitting potholes or curbs, or from wear and tear over time. Corrosion or fatigue from repeated use can weaken the material, leading to cracks. Additionally, improper installation or alignment issues can place undue strain on the axle, exacerbating the risk of failure. Regular maintenance and inspections can help prevent such issues.
a " conventional " or " regular " axle - an axle that is not a limited slip axle
No. A tri-axle has one additional lift axle; a quad axle has two lift axles.
There's no such thing as a one axle truck. There has to be a minimum of two axles. "Single axle" if a term referring to a truck with only a single drive axle, and doesn't count the steer axle. Same with "tandem axle", "tri axle", "quad axle", and "quint axle".
take off the wheel. crack axel nut and pull out carter pin. remove the rotor and brake pads. bang on the axle until it comes out fom the wheel bearing.. most Mitsubishi as in the 99 and up years seem to heat up while driving and then becoming stuck into the wheel bearing causing the axle not to come out. make sure you grease up the whole axle before putting back in
