Ikey Solomon was buried in a small Jewish cemetery on Harrington Street in Hobart. The cemetery has since been bulldozed and has had an apartment complex placed over it.
According to Wikipedia..."Solomon died on 3 September 1850, and was buried the next day in the Jewish cemetery in Harrington Street, Hobart. His estate was worth no more than £70. What remained of the little Jewish Cemetery in Harrington Street, (possibly the oldest Jewish Cemetery in Australia) was bulldozed in 2002. It had been officially closed in 1872 and, following the site becoming property of the state in 1945, what memorials remained were removed as an apartment complex was built on the site over the next decade.[12][12] - Judith Sackville-O'Donnell: He was buried in Hobart in the old Jewish cemetery in Harrington Street, which was recently just rediscovered under a block of housing. Two years ago this public housing was pulled down, and underneath they found the old Jewish cemetery, including the remains of Ikey Solomon. The skeletons were removed and reburied in the main cemetery at Cornelian Bay.
