Yes, they are the RealD glasses.
There no difference at all. Imax just has a bigger screen and better sound. In my opinon i would prefer RealD 3D
3d is 3d. its just 2 images one for left and one for right. RealD is one system for taking the 2 images and polarising them to block the opposite eye. Most home theatre systems have been using XpandD aka flicker or shutter, which uses a synchronised LCD shutter in the glasses to block opposite eye. JVC developed a polarising system for the home that uses alternating rows of polarising filters in the TV screen itself. this system allows you to use RealD glasses at home. however it also reduces the image quality in half, making your 1080 into 540 or standard def.
Not unless you have a computer screen that runs at 120 Hertz and supports the RealD 3D and have an NeonVidia GeForce 8000 or better.
The type of movies able to be viewed at the AMC 24 screen theater in Willowbrook, Texas are most of the current and mainstream movies that are out for public release. These can be experienced in some formats of IMAX as well as RealD 3D.
I'm monochromatic colorblind and IMAX and RealD don't work for me. The old glasses, with the solid red and solid blue lenses, worked okay. It's probably different for people with less severe cases.
I've seen a video of a guy with a 42' inch Vizio using RealD 3D glasses and it looked good through the camera. The video has a lot of likes So it must have worked for many others. But I can't seem to get it working the same way on my 24' Playstation Display.
