The Globe Theatre - NOT.
Impossible it was first performed there! The first Quarto printing was in 1597, and by then it had already been "often with great applause plaid publiquely" according to its title page. The Globe wasn't built until 1599. It was possibly 'The Theatre' or 'The Curtain'
i clicked on this stupid thing to give me the answer and it appears i have to answer my own question
Since the probable first performance was circa 1594, five years before The Globe opened, the play may have been performed at James Burbage's Theatre, or at Philip Henslowe's Curtain playhouse. There is some evidence that they may have used one or more of the inn-yard playhouses on occasion, most likely the Cross Keys Inn.
Nobody is absolutely sure of the date of composition of any Shakespeare play; but we know Romeo and Juliet was registered in 1597, and that plays were typically registered anything between a year and five years after they were written.
Most scholars put Romeo and Juliet around 1595.
It's a bit of a guess. It was published in 1597 and by then it had already been performed a number of times. Some scholars think it was written around 1595. That seems reasonable. There is no way we can make our guess more precise than that.
It is thought to have been first performed in either 1594 or 1595. It was first published in 1597; but different sources vary on the exact year.
There is not enough documentation to tell for sure, but likely it was shortly after it was written, about 1595.
Most historians agree Romeo and Juliet was first performed in the autumn and winter between 1594 and 1595. If it was not that early, it was definitely performed by 1957.
Romeo and Juliet's first performance was in 1594, or thereabouts. We have no clear proof of this; it's only an educated guess.
