Most of their recordings were made for Parlophone Records, an EMI label. Capitol Records was EMI's American branch, and issued most of their records in the US. The Beatles founded their own label, Apple Records, in 1968, as a division of their company Apple Corps. EMI became Apple's distributors.
The album first appeared in 1968, on the Apple Records label but with a small Capitol logo on the outside ring. (Capitol distributed Apple in the US.) It was reissued in 1976, on the Capitol Records label. (The first run was orange; the next run was purple.)
In the UK, it was released on the EMI/Parlophone label. In the US, it was released on Capitol Records, the sister company of EMI.
