The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT) is not written by any one person, it is a peer-reviewed research journal. More specifically, it is a peer-reviewed research journal that focuses on manual therapy research like chiropractic, physiotherapy and osteopathy. When scientists do research they write it as a research report and submit it to the journal. Then, the journal's editor sends the report to 2 or 3 experts in the field of medicine or manual therapy to judge the work (this is called peer-review). If the work is judged to be high-quality then the editor will publish the results in this journal for doctors and other scientists to read. Thus, JMPT is filled each month with research reports written by many different scientists in the area of manual therapy. The editorial board of JMPT includes some of the world's leading clinical low-back and spine researchers from medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic, and post-secondary education. J Readers include chiropractors, osteopaths, physical therapists, physiatrists, radiologists, and sports medicine specialists.
According to the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), the minimum GPA for admission into chiropractic college in North America is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. This is a brand new standard, that will take effect in 2012. In 2011 and all earlier years, the minimum GPA was 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. The Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) is the agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education for accreditation of programs and institutions offering the doctor of chiropractic degree. CCE seeks to insure the quality of chiropractic education in the United States by means of accreditation, educational improvement and public information.
