Then Later in 1953 Alfred King had the idea that Armistice Day should be a day to honor all Veterans who had fought for the USA. Then later on May 26, 1954 president Dwight Eisenhower signed into law that Armistice Day had been replaced by Veterans Day. Finally on June 1, 1954 Veterans Day was an official holiday.
