The Doctor of Philosophy in Minimal Access Surgery course is a full-time program for an initial 3 months. Candidate has to spend an initial three months at World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurugram, NCR Delhi. During these three month, they will get extensive "Hands On" training at World Laparoscopy Hospital. The course requires the submission of an assignment at the end of each module and the completion of a research project. In every laparoscopic surgery performed at WLH participants have the opportunity to work with consultants in operation theatre. In addition, three hours of practical instruction must be attended, covering the full range of laparoscopic skills. Teaching skills are developed by assisting in various laparoscopic courses held by the World Laparoscopy Hospital.
