With reference to tejada I can't help, but I do know that a John Hewitt painted seascapes and I personally own two of them. As far as I know he was a cornish artist. I have had my paintings since 1980.
You get to choose your own hours
I'm afraid that artist isn't famous or even known by many people, and the value of his or her artwork is just what you are happy to pay for it. Don't consider rarity as an argument to pay more, my own paintings are extremely rare but they are worth nothing.
I own one of his (her) paintings. It was passed down in my mother's family. It's a lovely watercolor of a country scene. So, yes, I've heard of this artist and know his work (on the basis of one painting). Beyond that, I can't help.
The Dutch artist Jan Vermeer is known for painting himself into a few of his works. A work by Vermeer called 'The Art of Painting' is a good example. In some of his works there may only be part of an easel or canvas in a refection.
