The construction of Brighton Pier started in 1891 and it opened to the public in May 1899.
Not directly as Eastbourne does not have an airport. You can fly from Glasgow to Gatwick then get on the train direct to Eastbourne.
The present pier was built in 1876-77 and opened to the public on 1 August 1877. A landwards extension was opened in 1884 and a new landing-stage was added in 1891. This landing-stage was totally rebuilt in 1969.
