When was first Bulgaria a country?

At the place near Danube, where it is situated now, it has been founded in 681 A.C. by Khan Asparuh from the Dulo Kin. Before that the Bulgarians had country, called Great Bulgaria, where is now Krim Peninsula, on the north side of Black sea.
