Pottermore was relaunched on the 22nd September 2015.
When originally launched, Pottermore was intended as a new way for children to experience the books. However the main user base was significant older and the website was incompatible with tablets. Therefore the website was relaunched, making it easier to access new writing and to accommodate the upcoming play and Fantastic Beasts series.
New chapters are released when the developers are happy that they are completed. Announcements are often made on the Pottermore Insider a few weeks before new content is released.
The only book left to be released on Pottermore is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. A release date is currently unknown.

Each day a new clue was released which, if answered correctly, led to one of Pottermore's partner websites. The quill would be hidden somewhere on the main page of that website.
On the 15th and 16th of June 2011 Harry Potter related websites released co-ordinates that when entered into a certain map site revealed a letter. One was also released on the brand new Pottermore twitter, which you can find in related links. Pottermore is a joint venture of J.K. Rowling and Sony and is an interactive experience that allows users to relive the books through moments and is a platform for J.K. Rowling to release new information. Users can also get sorted into a house, duel with other users and make potions. The Pottermore store is also the only place to buy Harry Potter e-books, along with various other merchandise.
