∙ 13y agoThe B52 fought it's first major war in Vietnam from 1965 thru 1973. 30 B52s were downed during the war and two B52 tail gunners shot down NVAF MiG21s during missions over North Vietnam in 1972.
Todays B52s drop smart weapons. During the Vietnam War one B52 could drop up to 108 750lb high explosive general purpose bombs.
