French transport ship Sidi-Bel-Abbès was torpedoed and sank by U-565 at 07.52 hours on 20 Apr, 1943, about 60 miles west of Oran. It was a part of attack at the convoy UGS-7. The Sidi-Bel-Abbès carried Senegalese soldiers, many of them lost their lives.
