I TO AM LOOKING FOR INFO MY SER. # IS 1236xxx
made about 1917
it was made by ITHACA (not colt) in 1943.................If your slide reads Colt, then sometime down the road a colt slide was put on your Ithaca receiver...............that is not unusual to have happen.................
this m1911a1 was made in 1943 so it is approximately 64 years old
made by Colt in 1913. your slide probably reads 'Ithaca' . during field cleaning gun parts get mixed during re-assembly.
1944.
7790314 is not a serial number, it is the part number for the slide.
Made in 1918 by Colt.
It was made in 1944.
serial number found on right side of the frame, above and to the left of the trigger guard... during field cleaning 45 pistols were disassembled and when put back together parts were often mixed (on military guns) if you see Colt or Ithaca on the slide it does not necessarily mean the pistol is a Colt or Ithaca. It could be a Remington or US&S made pistol..........................again, based on serial number
