V is a two-part Science Fiction television miniseries, written and directed by Kenneth Johnson. First shown in 1983, it initiated the science fiction franchise concerning aliens known as "The Visitors" trying to gain control of Earth, and of the ways the populace react to this.
"V" stands for The Visitors. It came to NBC television in 4 forms. First there was the original 1983 2-part miniseries. Next was V: The Final Battle in 1984, which was a 3-part miniseries. Then there was V the series which aired in 1984-85, and finally the 2009-11 series V which was a re-imagining of the 1983 miniseries.

Well, there was a whole series back in the 80s I think that was just called V. It began as a three part miniseries and then became a regular series. It was about some aliens that came to earth and pretended to need resources from us and to be our friends, but they were actually reptiles, and they were storing humans as food.
