It was made in 1905. It shoots .22 Winchester Automatic. Not .22 short, long, or long rifle.

Regular .22 cal cases will burst or rupture if used. .22 win auto is .224 and reg .22 is .222

Winchester and Remington quit making ammo for these rifles in the 1980's. Collectors

will pay $35-50 a box for it. Old Western Scrounger had 2 million rounds made up, and

is around $12-15 a box. It is the same diameter as .22WRF and .22MAG. Shoots a 45 grain

lead bullet. Great for rabbits and squirrels.
