Production started for the very first Chevelle in 1935. The Chevelle was a medium sized automobile built by General Motors. Chevelle is General Motors most successful name. Body styles come in convertabiles, coupes, and sedans.
If your Chevelle was built in the USA, you can't. If your Chevelle was built in Canada, you can contact GM of Canada and request a synopsis of the Chevelle's data (factory where built, build date, options, etc.).
The first Chevelle SS was built in 1964 as an option on the Malibu trim package. The first big block Chevelle SS was the 1965 Z16 Malibu SS396. It is a VERY rare car, only 201 were ever produced. ALL 201 of them were equipped with 4 speed manual transmissions.
About $3500, I think, depending on how you built it.
The first Chevelle was produced in 1964.
Yes. It is the exact same radio... The El Camino is actually a Chevelle model. It is built on the Chevelle station wagon frame. The entire dashboard is interchangeable between the two.
1964
1964.
The Chevelle was built from 1964 to 1977. After 1977 the Chevelle name was dropped and all "Chevelles" were called Malibus after that. The most popular year for the Chevelle is 1970 thanks to the LS6 engine option. the LS6 is a 454 CID V8 rated (grossly under rated) at 450 HP, and it was the highest rated factory installed, regular production ever built at the time. It held that record for decades. 1970 is the ONLY year the LS6 engine was available, and the Chevelle was the ONLY model it was ever installed in.
depending on the year of the car, Chevrolet had developed cars that had the same body style, but with different names. for example, in 1968 Chevrolet had built the chevelle.and this body style had several different variants, one would be a Malibu, then a chevelle Malibu, a chevelle, and a chevelle super sport. so a chevelle clone would be just taking a car with one body style, and converting it to a different variant that had the same body stylr. it would be like taking a chevelle-Malibu abd converting it to a chevelle ss.
The Chevelle was developed in 1962-1963 and went into production in late 1963 for the 1964 model year.
Depends.... If it had a straight 6 or a 2 barrel 283, no. If it had a 327, most likely, especially if it has the L-79 (350 HP 327) in it. The first truly fast Chevelle was the 1965 Z16.... It was the first time the 396 was installed in the Chevelle.
all 71 chevelles had a rear bumper.
